Verity: Book Club Questions to Make You Think!

This is another Colleen Hoover novel that I absolutely adored. What I think I loved most about Verity was the idea.

…Which unfortunately, I really can’t go into because then I would spoil the book, and nobody wants that.

But seriously, I would love to know where this author comes up with this stuff! It’s all so perfectly twisted!

I can see why she is a number-one bestselling and award-winning author. She seems to take every bestseller list that she is on and makes it her own personal bitch, and I don’t think she plans on stopping anytime soon—and God I sure hope not! She is easily among the top of my favorite authors.

This book alone has over 14,000 five-star ratings on Goodreads. And has been touted as “tragic, creepy and brilliant” (Mel Reader Reviews) What a combination! And I 100% have to agree!

What’s it about?

Lowen Ashleigh is a struggling writer on the brink of financial ruin when she accepts the job offer of a lifetime. Jeremy Crawford, husband of best-selling author Verity Crawford, has hired Lowen to complete the remaining books in a successful series his injured wife is unable to finish.

Lowen arrives at the Crawford home, ready to sort through years of Verity’s notes and outlines, hoping to find enough material to get her started. What Lowen doesn’t expect to uncover in the chaotic office is an unfinished autobiography Verity never intended for anyone to read. Page after page of bone-chilling admissions, including Verity’s recollection of the night their family was forever altered.

Lowen decides to keep the manuscript hidden from Jeremy, knowing its contents would devastate the already grieving father. But as Lowen’s feelings for Jeremy begin to intensify, she recognizes all the ways she could benefit if he were to read his wife’s words. After all, no matter how devoted Jeremy is to his injured wife, a truth this horrifying would make it impossible for him to continue to love her. (via the book cover)

As much as I hate to, I probably should put a warning on this one. This book does contain some graphic scenes and mature content… Deliciously well done, I might add.
