These are the top ten romantic reads with a mystery edge, on my want to read list.
Ok… we all have probably gathered by now, I’m not really into the whole romantic reads thing. However, if there is a good mystery, thriller or some other kind of scandal or taboo attached to it, Hell-to-the yeah-yeah, count me in!
Don’t get me wrong. I love love. I just don’t love to read about love unless it’s combined with a slight murdering or two.
Never Tell by Lisa Gardner
What can I say, my girl Lisa makes the list again… That’s a shocker, right? This is actually book ten in the Detective D.D. Warren series and it sounds so good! I have been slowly making my way through the series and am currently only on book seven, but now that I have seen the preview for this book, I can’t wait to finish book seven and get through books eight and nine so I can get to this one!
A man is dead, shot three times. His computer, shot 12 times. His pregnant wife is holding the gun. Okay guys… What are we thinking here? Was he cheating? Watching too much porn? Did he gamble away all of their life savings? Is it just the pregnancy hormones?? I don’t know what’s going on, but I can’t wait to read this book and find out!

I love a good series. Say You’re Sorry by New York Times Bestselling Author Karen Rose is book one in her Sacramento Series. I haven’t read anything from this author yet, but am excited to let this one be my first.

I know this is going to be good. I have a feeling this lady could write the phone book and make it interesting. A struggling writer, a hunk of a guy and a secret manuscript? Count me in! This book seems more up my dark and murky alley than the previous two books of hers that I read, and I completely LOVED those, so this is sure to be a hit.
Flawless by Heather Graham
New York’s Diamond District has been hit by a rash of thefts, now people are starting to die.
Another first in a series, Flawless by New York Times Bestselling Author, Heather Graham sounds disasterly dazzling. I haven’t read too many of her books, but after reading the synopsis for this one, I am looking forward to doing just that. Quoted by the Library Journal as being “Intricate, fast-paced and tense”, it sounds sure to be a good read.
Sex, Murder & A Double Latte by Kyra Davis
We’ve got a Lisa on the list and now a Kyra too? This is wrapping up to be a mighty fine list, if I do say so myself… and of course I do. Kyra, that also happens to be my youngest daughter’s name. Everyone pronounces it Kira which is funny because that’s how I was going to spell it, but— oh… you probably want to know more about the book, and not so much about my family, huh?
When it appears that a crazed reader is sneaking into scribe Sophie Katz’s apartment to reenact scenes from her book, Sophie knows she’s not just being paranoid.
If the inside of the book is half as cute as the cover of this book, we will have a definite win, perfect for Valentine’s Day. I mean, what says romantic read better than a title like Sex, Murder And A Double Latte? Ok… Maybe it says it more to people like us who like a mystery edge to their read.

Jar of Hearts by Jennifer Hillier
Ok… so I have actually already read this one, well… technically I listened to it. But it was a few years back and it was so good I want to see it in print so I can devour every word.
Three best friends, one was murdered, one sent to prison and one searching for the truth. With an ending that you won’t want to see coming, this award-winning novel by Jennifer Hillier is a superb standout thriller.
Although I haven’t heard a release date, I read that Cinelou films has acquired the rights to this novel which is FAAANTASTIC! I imagine watching this film will be like watching a good train wreck— there’s such a thing, right? No? I’m just weird? –Even though you may want to, you won’t be able to look away.
A Flicker in the Dark by Stacey Willingham
I have seen this book all over the internet, TikTok, bookstores, It’s EVERYWHERE. So, I’m thinking it’s time to give in and take this one for a spin.

I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to find out the who, the what and the why of this one.
